Indian-built Jeep Compass here soon…

There’s an all-new Jeep SUV coming to Australia towards the end of the year – the Jeep Compass.

Yes, we’ve had that nameplate in Australia previously, this new vehicle though is a global model with Jeep building the Compass in several nations, including China, Brazil and Mexico.

Now, it is also being put together in India.

A brand-new facility has just been opened in the subcontinent by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and it will produce all right-hand drive versions of what Jeep says is “the most capable compact SUV ever”.

Yes, that means the Jeep Compass SUVs that come to Australia later this year will be Indian-built.

In a statement released by FCA this evening, the car company said the new Ranjangoan plant is state of the art and features a structured and rigorous production system that encompasses all plant processes.
