Iveco wins significant truck contract in Europe

Iveco to supply more than 600 trucks to Lannutti Group…

More than 600 new Iveco Stralis trucks are about to be delivered to leading European integrated logistics company, Lannutti.

What makes the deal significant, other than the sheer volume of the order, is that a large percentage of the Iveco trucks will be powered by natural gas (LNG).

The trucks, known as the Stralis NP (NP stands for Natural Power), have a Cursor-9 engine and two Liquefied Natural Gas tanks than can hold fuel for a distance of up to 1,500km.

While the diesel-powered Stralis trucks being supplied to Lannutti are from the Iveco Stralis XP range.

The Stralis XP boasts the Iveco Cursor-11 engine with up to 480hp.

Pierre Lahutte, Brand leader of Iveco, says the deal is a significant one for the brand.

“These vehicles were selected due to their low fuel consumption and high payload capacity,”

“The contract is one of the most important agreements in Europe with regard to the number of vehicles: 610 new Stralis of type XP and NP, both success solutions for sustainable vehicles,”

“Firstly our best vehicle model for reducing fuel consumption and the other the first natural gas vehicle for long distance routes.”
