Iveco confirms International Trucks deal almost done

The International Trucks brand has a long and proud history in Australia and now we could be about to see International Trucks return to the local truck market.

And it is likely it will be Iveco that will be importing and distributing the International Trucks product.

Ron Grasso, Head of Corporate and External Affairs for Iveco in Australia, spoke openly about ongoing negotiations for the local distribution rights for the brand at the launch of the new Iveco Daily 4×4 this week.

Mr Grasso said that while a deal with Navistar, the parent company of International Trucks, is yet to be signed he was hopeful an announcement could be made soon.

“It is highly likely we will be able to announce something in the next couple of weeks,” Mr Grasso said.

“We are in the final stages of discussions with Navistar and are hopeful of a conclusion soon.”

The International Truck range in its domestic market, the US, features models including the LoneStar (as shown) and ProStar prime movers and heavy-duty rigids including the HX Series and WorkStar.

We will keep you updated on further developments.
