Infiniti dip their toe in high-performance models…
There could be a high-performance line-up available soon from Infiniti.
The Japanese premium car company has just taken the covers off this concept at the Geneva Motor Show, it’s called ‘Project Black S’.
Based on the Infiniti Q60 Coupe, the vehicle features a hybrid drivetrain that has been tweaked with the help of the Renault F1 team.
One of those tweaks is an energy recovery system that harvests energy, stores it, and then deploys it to boost power and torque.
Infiniti telling us the result is instant, significant, lag-free acceleration.
21” wheels, high-performance titanium twin exhaust and a whole host of carbon fibre additions complete the package.
Roland Krueger, President of Infiniti Cars, says the Project Black S is, at this stage, just a look at what could be achieved.
“We are the premium car manufacturer within the Renault-Nissan Alliance, and a technical partner to the Renault Sport Formula One Team, so it is natural that we come together to explore the possibility of bringing innovative high-performance hybrid technology to our customers.”
We will keep you updated with further news on Infiniti’s possible high-performance models as it comes to hand.
