Turns out that teaser image that Infiniti released earlier in the week was a sneak peak at the new Infiniti SUV – the QX50.
The Japanese car company has just released the above image of the new addition to the range, the car will be seen in the flesh for the first time at the LA Auto Show next week.
We’ve been covering the development of the QX50 (a vehicle we haven’t seen yet in Australia) since the mid-size SUV was first teased as a concept car at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show.
Infiniti also confirmed the new vehicle would be powered by a new 2.0 litre turbo-petrol engine featuring the brand’s new variable compression technology.
Infiniti say the engine’s 200kW/380Nm outputs will bring best-in-class power and torque with the engine rivalling the torque and efficiency of a four-cylinder diesel.
The new Infiniti QX50 will be offered in both 2WD and all-wheel drive variants and a CVT will come as standard.
“The QX50 is the most important vehicle we have ever launched, and it embodies everything the brand stands for: Beautiful design, advanced technology and empowering performance.” - Christian Meunier, INFINITI Global Division Vice President
While the new platform that the QX50 will be built upon will allows for a roomy cabin with good cargo space, according to the Japanese brand.
We will bring you updated Australian availability, pricing and specifications when confirmed by Infiniti Cars Australia.
