Honda’s Adventure Scooter Set For Production

Honda Adventure Scooter Concept Makes Production

First seen as a concept at the EICMA show in Milan last year, Honda has been gradually releasing more information about the its Adventure Scooter through a series of videos and indications are that it is now destined for showrooms by next year.

The initial reaction to the machine was mixed, with some people even wondering whether Honda was playing games with us by showing us a bike that looked like a cross between a traditional scooter and a full blown adventure bike.

But it seems the Japanese manufacturer is indeed serious and the adventure scooter is in fact headed into production.

While official information still won’t be released until the 15th September, we now know it is based around the NC750 parallel twin platform.

That would give the scooter a capacity of 745 cc and roughly 40 kW in terms of power, and of course Honda’s DCT semi-automatic transmission.

Reports of pre-production prototypes being spotted in testing have mentioned that the concept’s up-spec USD forks, radial calipers and an aluminium swingarm have all been retained.

It also has a tall, adjustable screen and handguards and heated grips that you’d normally expect on adventure tourers.
