New child restraint technology a step ahead according to Holden.
Holden has welcomed the federal government’s decision to approve ISOFIX child safety seat restraints.
ISOFIX, which was already approved in the United States and Europe, is a simple anchor point system that uses both bottom anchor points and a top tether to secure the child seat to the vehicle seat.
Designed to significantly reduce the risk of incorrect seat fitment, Holden says the government has done the right thing in approving the ISOFIX system.
Holden’s Director of Integration and Safety, Ian Butler, says in anticipation of the green lighting of ISOFIX the manufacturer has made its entire line-up ISOFIX compliant.
“All of our current range is ISOFIX compliant, including VF Commodore which is one of only a handful of cars to be able to offer ISOFIX anchorage points across all three rear seats, a huge advantage for those with larger families.”
