Holden has added a new optional 1.4 litre turbo-petrol engine to the LTZ grade of the Holden Trax.

Previously only available with a 1.8 litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that offers 103kW and 175Nm, the turbo-charged power plant in the Holden Trax is the same unit that features in the Holden Barina RS and Holden Cruze and produces 103kW and 200Nm.

Holden are promising fuel consumption from the smaller turbocharged engine of 6.9l/100kms combined.

Only available with a six-speed auto transmission, Teresa Basile, Holden’s General Manager Marketing Communications. said the new engine gives Holden Trax buyers more flexibility.

“Trax has received great traction in the market as well as plenty of positive reviews and we are committed to building on that success to ensure Trax continues to evolve and respond to customer needs.”

The Holden Trax range starts from $23,990, the LTZ with turbocharged petrol engine will cost you from $29,990.
