Holden Captiva Vehicle Jack Recall

Holden Captiva Vehicle Jack Recall

Holden Captiva 5 and 7 recalled over incorrect jack sticker.

Holden Captiva Vehicle Jack Recall - the recall affects both Holden Captiva 5 and 7 models.

Owners of a large number of CG Series Holden Captiva 5 and Holden Captiva 7 vehicles will be asked to return their vehicle to a Holden dealership to have a sticker attached to their vehicles jack replaced.

The Holden Captiva Vehicle Jack Recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and affects Holden Captiva vehicles between the 28th of May 2014 and the 21st of September 2015.

The ACCC recall notice advising that the label on the jack supplied with the vehicle identifies a ‘safe working load’, which is not permitted by the mandatory standard for jacks if the jack is intended for use with a specific vehicle.

The mandatory standard, AS/NZS2693-2007, does not permit the identification of a safe working load on jacks supplied for use with a specific vehicle, as the jack may be used on a vehicle for which it was not intended and cause a hazard.

Holden will write to all affected customers to notify them of the required action.

The latest Holden Captiva recall comes after earlier recalls of the Holden SUV over a fuel pump issue and an ignition switch fault.
