Holden Astra sedan confirmed for Australia

May arrival for new sedan version of all-new Holden Astra…

The recently launched all-new Holden Astra will welcome a sedan version in Australia from May.

Confirmed today by Holden, the new Astra sedan joins the hatch and coupe body-styles.

Interestingly, while sharing the same platform as the hatch and coupe, the Holden Astra sedan will be built in South Korea and based on the Chevrolet Cruze sedan.

Holden’s Director – Planning and Program Management, Marinos Panayiotou, says this shows the car company can really pick and choose which global models it brings here.

“Astra sedan is a truly global vehicle, developed in Europe, manufactured in Korea and finished with design elements and significant engineering input from Holden.”

Much of that engineering input was focussed on ensuring the sedan version of the Astra meets local ride and handling requirements, according to Holden.
