Hino spruiks benefits of 300 Series Hybrid

Hino is looking to achieve a significant increase in sales of its Hino 300 Series Hybrid in coming months.

The diesel-electric light duty truck has been offered in Australia for a decade and in that time the offering has chalked up a very respectable 481 sales.

However, Hino reckons the model should be finding more Aussie owners and intends to grow awareness of the fuel and emissions saving offering through a new marketing campaign.

Hino Australia CEO Steve Lotter telling Behind the Wheel Truck News that the Hino 300 Series Hybrid has a good story to tell.

“Global demand for a low greenhouse gas emission truck gave us the perfect opportunity to provide our proven hybrid solution to Australian businesses,”

“We stepped into a truck market unfamiliar with diesel-electric technology and implemented the world’s best hybrid system thanks to our Toyota Group connection.

“The research and development by Toyota and our global Hino counterparts ensured our product delivered on our promise of quality, durability and reliability.

“For our local customers, recognising that the Hino Hybrid helps save fuel and increase the bottom line has made it the preferred choice for fleets of all sizes.”

Powered by a 4.0 litre 110kW/420Nm diesel engine with a 36kW electric motor, the Hino hybrid is offered in eight variants and boasts comparable fuel savings of up to 21%.
