Last weekend Hino put its top parts, service and sales staff to the test as part of the Japanese truck brand’s 2017 Hino National Skills Contest.
Eighteen staff, all of whom made it through five months of competition to take a place in the contest, battled it out at Hino headquarters in Sydney.

The Hino sales and parts contestants were put to the test in role play scenarios and through a quiz.
The service technicians were tested on their diagnostic and technical skills.
And the parts contestants had to identify genuine versus non-genuine parts.
Hino CEO Steve Lotter says the customer is ultimate winner when a truck brand has the best staff.
“It’s essential for the continued success of Hino Australia that our staff continue to provide world-class service and knowledge to our customers.”
The 2017 Hino National Skills Contest winners were:
- Brandon Healey (Service) - WA Hino
- Luke Bennett (Sales) - FRM Hino Hobart
- Tom Stewart (Parts) - West Orange Motor
All three winners receive an expenses-paid trip to Japan to watch the Hino Japan Skills Contest in October.
