Thousands of Hino 300 Series trucks caught up in recall…
An issue with the instrument panel fitted to Hino 300 Series trucks could cause the engine to suddenly cut out.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is overseeing the recall after the issue with the instrument panel brace was identified.
In total, as many as more than 8,000 Hino 300 Series trucks will be recalled.

The recall notice advises that the instrument panel brace may interfere with the wire harness.
This interference may cause the wire harness to become damaged by the edge of the brace, causing a short circuit.
What are the hazards?
This may cause the engine to stop whilst the vehicle is being operated.
Affected Hino 300 Series owners will be contacted by direct mail and asked to return their vehicle to an authorised Hino dealer for inspection and repair.
