High prices holding back Electric Bus sales

A report has found that the high initial purchase price of electric buses is proving a major stumbling block delaying their roll-out in greater numbers in the worlds cities.

High prices holding back Electric Bus salesThe Global Electric Bus Market Size, Share, Development, Growth and Demand Forecast to 2025 report found that while prices remain high for battery-powered buses other technologies, such as hybrid and natural gas powered buses, are likely to continue to dominate the market.

The global electric bus market accounted for volume sales of 19,059 units globally in 2015.

The report predicts that the market is expected to witness growth of 20.9% annually until 2025.

While China is the largest and the fastest growing electric bus market in our region (Asia-Pacific) with sales their expected to account for over 50% share of the global electric bus market by 2025.

The report also found that Europe, UK, Germany, and France are the other major markets for electric buses.
