June sales data shows more strong growth for Volvo

There’s an ever increasing number of Volvo drivers on the roads and highways of the world.

Volvo Cars has reported that sales climbed by more than 10% across the first six months of 2016 as buyers were increasingly drawn to the brands ‘new age’ models, especially the XC90.

In total, 256,563 Volvo’s were delivered to customers across the globe in the first half of the year.

Sales were up 10.3% in Europe, a mammoth 25% in the US and 13.5% in Sweden.

And the now Chinese-owned car company managed to sell 40,688 cars in China, the brands biggest market.

While in June, sales totalled 51,431 globally, 10.6% more than the same month in 2015.

Interestingly though, that increase in demand didn’t flow through to Australia.

Volvo car sales here in June slipped back 35% on the same month last year.

Dramatic sales slides from the S60, V40 and XC60 dragging the brand down, while the XC90 continued to record strong local sales with 175 deliveries.
