Ford introduces SYNC 3 in Australia

Latest edition of Ford connectivity system arrives in Australia

There’s a new generation of the Ford SYNC 3 Connectivity System coming to Ford models in Australia.

Being added now to the Ford Focus and Mondeo, Ford will have SYNC 3 in the Mustang and Ranger/Everest models in September and then sporty Focus ST/RS variants in November.

All models with the SYNC 3 system will feature an 8” touchscreen, a size that matches or betters the screens offered by Ford’s major rivals.

While the updated system adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and offers users the chance to send text messages without taking your eyes off the road.

Other safety benefits that the SYNC 3 system offers includes an upgraded Emergency Assist feature that is able to provide emergency services with more info about what type of accident the vehicle has been involved in and how many passengers are on-board.

Ford Australia Marketing Boss, Lew Echlin, says the upgraded system comes after a decade of development and at a time when connectivity is a higher priority than ever for car buyers.

“We have made a significant investment in technology with a view to giving us a competitive advantage over our rivals.

“With SYNC 3 we wanted to create a system that provides the best experience for Ford drivers with the goal of providing a seamless connection between their online and driving lives”.
