Thousands of Ford Focus vehicles recalled in Australia.

A recall has been initiated for more than 4,200 Ford Focus vehicles sold in Australia.
Being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, owners of Ford Focus vehicles are being asked to avoid aggressive acceleration on take-off until their vehicle is inspected or repaired.
The ACCC recall notice for the Ford Focus drive shaft recall says it is possible that the front drive shafts fitted to affected vehicles may not meet specification and could fail during initial acceleration and take-off.
If the front drive shafts fail, it will cause loss of ability to accelerate from a standing start, posing an accident hazard to the driver and other road users.
Ford will write to all affected owners and further information is also available from authorised Ford dealerships or Ford’s Customer Relationship Centre on 1800 503 672.
