Fiesta range and Focus hatch and sedan pick up some extras.
Ford has added just a little extra value to the Fiesta and Focus hatch and sedan, announcing the Fiesta would now come as standard with Emergency Assistance, while the Focus Ambiente and Trend now boast a full-size spare wheel.
Previously only available on the Fiesta ST, Focus ST and Ford Kuga, the Emergency Assistance system will use an in-range paired mobile phone to deliver a critical voice message to emergency services operators if the car detects that it’s been in an accident.
Ford General Marketing Manager, David Katic says the technology is a potentially life-saver.
“We continue to aim to cascade new features into Ford vehicles and the addition of Emergency Assistance is the latest feature to join the Fiesta range.”
While Mr Katic says the move to add a full-size spare wheel on the Focus Ambiente and Trend models was a direct response to customer demand.
“The feedback from customers was that they would prefer to have a full-size spare wheel, so we’ve responded,
“With the recent addition of cruise control and lumbar support on the Focus Ambiente and Trend, we continually look at adding even more value into the range for customers.”
