Double milestone for Skoda Fabia

Fabia production passes big milestones

Local Skoda Fabia sales in 2016 were up more than 38% on the models 2015 total and that rising popularity has helped Skoda achieve two important production milestones for the model.

One of the milestones relates to the popular current-edition model – the production of the 500,000th third-gen Skoda Fabia.

While this week, Skoda also built the four millionth Fabia.

Launched in 1999, the Skoda Fabia today is the second-best selling Skoda behind the Octavia, both globally and in Australia.

The historic Skoda Fabia number four-million was a white Fabia Combi.

Production chief at Skoda, Michael Oeljeklaus, says the achievements mean a great deal to the Czech car brand.

“Today, we can be doubly proud. 500,000 third-generation Fabias built and four million Fabias produced in total are powerful testimonies of Skoda’s high production quality,”

“Since 1999, the small car has been one of the key players in our model portfolio and has won over customers around the world.

“Each generation has characterised the development of the brand, featuring the latest technologies and exceptional space for outstanding value for money, complemented with attractive designs and superior technologies.

“Now more than ever, the Fabia is a crucial driver of our dynamic growth.”

The 2017 Skoda Fabia range in Australia is priced from $16,490.
