Diff fault recall for Fuso heavy trucks

Small number of Fuso trucks being recalled…

A possible fault with the installation of the rear differential has sparked a recall of Fuso heavy trucks in Australia.

Just 19 trucks are affected, all are from the Fuso Heavy Duty Euro V model range (you can check to see if your truck is affected here – have your VIN handy).

Being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the recall notice says that during production there may have been insufficient torque settings applied to the bolts fixing the ring gear for the differential.

What are the hazards?

The bolts may become loose or detach and cause damage to the differential.

This would cause the vehicle to be undriveable, posing a safety risk for the vehicle occupants.

Affected Fuso truck owners will be contacted by direct mail and asked to contact their nearest authorised Fuso dealership to arrange for an inspection and repair of the vehicle.
