New Lexus hybrid flagship makes Geneva debut…
Lexus dealerships in Australia will soon welcome this all-new Lexus LS 500h.
Making its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show today, Lexus has confirmed the offering will boast a new ‘Multi Stage’ hybrid system that will deliver a hefty 264kW.
That power output comes by way of the LS 500h’s 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine, twin electric motors and ten-speed auto transmission.
Aimed unashamedly at younger customers, Lexus tell us the model will deliver a 0-100km/h sprint in just 5.4 seconds.
And the new Lexus hybrid brings something else new to the table – the ability to be able to drive in full electric mode at speeds of up to 140km/h.
Coming on the back of the unveiling of the V6-powered LS 500 in Detroit in January, Lexus Chief Engineer Toshio Asahi tells us the Lexus range will soon welcome the two potent siblings.
“Developing such a flagship model required a massive paradigm shift.
Rather than being bound by the conventions that had defined luxury cars in the past, we aimed to create a car with innovative, emotional and sensual appeal that would draw customers’ eyes away from other luxury cars and provide entirely new values.”
We will bring you more news on the new Lexus LS 500h/500 as it comes to hand, including Australian pricing, specification and availability details.
