Design Award Win for 2017 Audi Q2

All-new Audi Q2 SUV takes major design award

The keenly-anticipated new Audi Q2 has just picked up a major German design award.

The new small Audi SUV was named as a winner in the German Design Council’s Automotive Brand Contest, taking honours in the Exterior Premium Brand category.

The judges telling us they were impressed by the Audi Q2’s polygonal design, including the octagonal single-frame grille, two large, strongly contoured air inlets.

The also like how the rear-end terminates dynamically with a long roof edge spoiler and a diffuser that has an underbody-protection look.

Audi Head of Design, Marc Lichte, said a lot of work went into making the Q2 look just right.

“In the Audi Q2 we have developed a distinctively geometric formal language with special design characteristics specific to this model,”

“As a result the car exhibits an independent character within the Q family.”

Audi will officially collect the design award for the Q2 at a ceremony in Paris in September.
