March 2017 proves massive month for SUVs in Australia…

There’s no doubt about it, the stampede towards SUVs is on among Australian car buyers and we can’t see any let up in their rising popularity, at least in the short or medium terms.

VFACTS data from March 2017 shows the Mazda CX-3 was the king of the small SUV/Crossover market, the Hyundai Tucson managed to topple perennial mid-size champion, Mazda’s CX-5 and the Toyota Prado again proved the one to beat among the large SUVs.

Medium SUV sales shot ahead by 20.2% in March.

While some notable performers in the month included the new Toyota C-HR with more than 400 sales, the Kia Sportage enjoyed a sales surge and the new Maserati Levante scored a pleasing 40 sales.
