Chery J1 recalled over possible seat fault

Australian owners of Chery J1 sedans are being asked to return their vehicle to a Chery dealership to have new backrests fitted to their cars front seats.

Recall word in red grunge style stamp to illustrate a defect inAffecting a total of 702 vehicles sold in Australia, the Chery J1 recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

The ACCC recall notice advising that there is an internal non-conformity of both front seat backrests.

Under certain operating conditions, the integrity of the seat frame structure may be compromised.

Owners of affected Chery J1 vehicles will be contacted by letter and advised to contact their dealership for removal of both front seats and replacement of the backrest assembly on each seat.

The ACCC advising that both front seats will be re-fitted to the Chery vehicle using the new mounting bolts.
