The countdown is on to 2017 and that means we can’t stop thinking about some of the new and improved cars that are coming our way in the new year.
2016 was a huge year for new/refreshed models and this led to a whole heap of headaches for us when it came to finding our Car of the Year.
But 2017 looks just as, if not even more exciting!
Here are the top three cars we can’t wait to drive in 2017…
Lexus LC 500/500h
Lexus continues its assault on the Germans with powerful, sporty models that are anything but the Lexus of old.
The LC 500, a 351kW sports car looks to be the icing on the cake for the Japanese brand.
Head-turning good looks, with a driving experience described by Lexus as ‘special’, the new Lexus LC 500 and the hybrid variant - the 500h, are on our test-drive hit list.
Alfa Romeo Giulia
The top-spec QV, with the Nurburgring lap record in the bag, looks like a whole lot of fun!
We hope that the new Alfa Romeo model has the quality and functionality to match the hype the Giulia has built up.
Toyota has one of the most stable and consistent range of vehicles available, so when an all-new offering comes along we get just a little bit extra excited.
And the all-new C-HR looks to be exactly the right car at just the right time.
The turbocharged crossover model comes into the Australian market at a time when Aussie car buyers are flocking to the baby SUV offerings at record numbers.
Other cars to look forward to in 2017 include:
Mazda CX-5 - New generation model of one of Australia’s best-selling models promises improved cabin comfort and driving dynamics.
Hyundai i30 - One of Australia’s favourite models has been hanging out for a refresh, we look forward to sampling the new and improved model.
Lexus LS - The new flagship Lexus promises improved ride and comfort.
Honda CR-V - The all-new model is picking up awards overseas and arrives in need of something special to bring Australian SUV buyers back.
Honda Civic Type-R - Built on an excellent base, we hope the new Type-R is the best yet.
Audi Q2 - Like the Toyota C-HR, the chunky new crossover looks to be exactly the vehicle that cashed-up small SUV/crossover buyers are looking for.
BMW 5 Series - We had a sample of the new-generation 5 Series recently, it looks like its going to be a very special car.
