Bumper Start to 2016 for Ford Australia

Ford Australia has reported a significant increase in sales in Australia to start 2016.

On the back of the Ford Mustang being sold out in record time and strong sales for Ford Ranger, Kuga and Mondeo, Ford reports a 17.2% increase in sales in Australia so far this year.

In a statement released by Ford Australia this evening, Ford boss, Graeme Whickman, says things couldn’t be going better for the brand at the moment.

“Our Australian design and engineering teams played a large role in the development of Ranger.

“We’re glad to say the Ranger 4X4 is Australia’s top selling truck so far this year, with 19% of the market compared to the Hilux 4X4 on 18.5%.

“While our kid-ready Ford Kuga is up 51% year-on-year, while Mondeo sales are up 427.9% on this time last year.”

Mr Whickman also welcomed the keen interest in the EcoBoost-powered Ford Mustang among Australian buyers.

“With Australians drawn to the engine in their droves, many exposed to them for the first time via the Mustang.

“In fact, 40% of all Mustang Convertibles sold in February came with an EcoBoost under the hood.

“Mustang has a bigger role as a flagship for innovations such as EcoBoost engine technology that we offer on other vehicles such as Focus and the Ford Kuga SUV to give customers a great blend of fuel economy and efficiency.”
