Road sensing tech to be further developed
A company that has developed a system that scans the road and then adjusts suspension settings for optimum ride and performance has been purchased by the tyre industry giants – Bridgestone.
ClearMotion, which designs and builds digital motion control systems, developed the technology called proactive ride.
Using software algorithms, ClearMotion co-founder, Shakeel Avadhany, says proactive ride makes traditional dampers intelligent and responsive.
“We want to improve the quality of time in cars,”
“proactive ride delivers previously unachievable levels of comfort and safety combined with handling abilities beyond that of today’s sports cars.
“The vision for autonomy is to enable productivity on the road, but this is only achievable with a stable, comfortable ride.”
While Bill Thompson, Chief Operating Officer of Bridgestone Americas, says he’s delighted to have the tech under the Bridgestone umbrella.
“We will be working with ClearMotion not only to advance the future of the digital, connected, autonomous car, but also to leverage our leadership in tyre, anti-vibration, and air spring technology in order to deliver unparalleled ride comfort, safety and more advanced mobility solutions.”
Bridgestone was recently named Australia’s most trusted tyre brand, check out those details here.
