All-new BMW X1 debuts with new looks and updated engines.
The all-new second generation BMW X1 has been debuted with the entry-point of the BMW X Series getting a number of cosmetic and mechanical changes.
Due in Australia in early 2016, the big change being introduced with the new second generation BMW X1 is that lower-spec models will be offered with front wheel drive, rather than the rear wheel drive configuration offered in the current model.
On upper-spec X1 models the traditional BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system remains.
Engine choice will run to two petrol and three diesel four-cylinder units ranging from 110kW to 170kW outputs. BMW promising the new engine range will offer fuel use and emission reductions of up to 17%.
The new BMW X1 also grows by 53mm in height and this adds to the extra space provided by the all-new X1 chassis. BMW also promising the new X1 will deliver cutting-edge premium ambience and functionality inside the redesigned cabin.
