Sales data shows BMW on-track for best year ever.
The BMW Group continues to see sales records tumble as celebrations are held to mark the groups best May sales result in history.
The BMW Group, which incorporates BMW cars and motorcycles as well as the MINI and Rolls-Royce brands, sold 188,287 vehicles in the month, that’s a full 5.9% increase on the same month in 2014.
For the first five months of the year the BMW Group delivered a total of 890,937 vehicles, that represents an increase of 7.7% and a record start to a year.
And the electric BMW i3 has now been delivered to over 8,000 customers this year.
The global sales increases however remain below the jump in popularity in BMW vehicles in Australia. In May, 2,380 BMW vehicles left Australian showrooms - that compares with a total of just 1,843 in the same month in 2014!
Over at MINI things were also exciting. Sales jumped ahead 18.3% on May 2014 and global sales for the year are up over 25%.
Ian Robertson is on the Board of Management of BMW Group, he says global sales remain on track for a record 2015.
“The solid growth the BMW Group has achieved this year continued in May, with all sales regions recording an increase in sales,”
“Our innovative, new products are achieving pleasing sales around the world and I am delighted that we have sold over 10,000 BMW i vehicles in the first five months of this year.”
