There’s a good chance Australia will receive a small number of special edition BMW M4 cars that are being built to celebrate the success of the brand in this years DTM Series in Germany.
Known as the BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition, just 200 cars will be built in total.
Boasting a high-output version of the BMW straight-six engine, BMW is promising a 16% power increase over the standard M4 and a 3.9 second 0-100km/h sprint time.
While the special edition car also boasts carbon-fibre aerodynamic enhancements, M Carbon bucket seats, M Sports steering wheel and a white rollover bar that replaces the rear seats.
Speaking at the launch of the 2017 BMW 1 Series and 2 Series, Head of Product and Market Planning at BMW Australia, Shawn Ticehurst, said he was confident we would see a few M4 DTM cars here.
“While not yet confirmed for Australia, we are hoping to be able to announce something soon.” He said.
We will keep you updated.
