Big changes for Jaguar XJ in 2018

There will be some significant changes to the Jaguar XJ in 2018 with dealerships in Australia set to take delivery of the updated MY18 vehicle.

Some of the big changes in the car landing early next year include a new variant – the XJR575.

That car has been named as the new performance flagship XJ variant by Jaguar.

The British sports/luxury car brand has given the saloon, available only in standard wheelbase, a 19kW boost with the top-spec car’s 5.0 litre supercharged V8 now delivering a meaty 423kW/700Nm.

XJR575 promises a 4.4 second sprint to 100km/h.

While the 2018 Jaguar XJR575 also gets distinctive styling enhancements, including rear spoiler, side sills, front bumper and lower air intakes featuring gloss black surrounds.

2018 Jaguar XJ Engine Range:

  • 221kW 3.0 litre V6 diesel
  • 250kW 3.0 litre V6 supercharged petrol
  • 375kW 5.0 litre V8 supercharged petrol
  • 423kW 5.0 litre V8 supercharged petrol

Across the wider XJ range for 2018 Jaguar is adding 4G Wi-Fi capability, and a larger 10” touchscreen with pinch and zoom functionality.

There’s also new safety tech/driving aids too, such as Forward Traffic Detection (designed to help when forward visibility is restricted), Lane Keep Assist (to keep the XJ between the white lines) and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
