New Mercedes-AMG SUVs coming
Mercedes-Benz is streaking ahead of its European rivals in Australia in 2017, now comes more fresh product aimed at enticing even more buyers.
This time it’s the new bi-turbo V8 powered GLC SUV.
Known as the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S 4MATIC+ and 4MATIC+ Coupe (seen below), the new variants of the popular Mercedes-Benz mid-size SUV promise a 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.8 seconds.
They say this makes it Australia’s fastest SUV.
The duo, landing in Australia in the final quarter of the year, are powered by the brand’s 4.0 litre V8 engine that gives 375kW and 700Nm.
To match the grunt Mercedes-AMG has bolted in air spring suspension with adaptive adjustable damping, AMG all-wheel drive with fully variable torque distribution and a rear-axle limited-slip diff.
High-performance brakes and styling tweaks straight out of the Mercedes-AMG sports car family complete the package.
Priced from $164,900 and $171,900 (Coupe), Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers tells us the new SUVs are a step above the competition.
“For us, the new GLC 63 4MATIC+ is a quite special vehicle.
“It is no easy job designing an SUV to be highly sporty and dynamic while at the same time offering inherent extreme driving stability,”
“The result is an SUV that can be driven with high precision and agility and which, if required, is equally at home on a high-speed lap of the race track.”
