Volvo performance electric car brand to skip Australia initially


The recently established standalone EV car brand, Polestar, won’t be coming to Australia for some time yet.

The performance car focused brand has revealed its initial launch markets overnight and Australia wasn’t one of the them.

Instead, Polestar will start its new life in China, the U.S., Germany, Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands.

The first dealerships and deliveries of the brand’s first offering – the Polestar 1, will take place around the middle of 2019.

Regarding further expansion, Polestar promised other countries will be introduced and confirmed at a later date.

It seems that customers have responded positively to the new brand, they tell us Polestar 1 subscription and expressions of interest outnumber early production slots.

Official orders for the model, in the countries mentioned above, will start being taken early next year.
