Australia-bound Astra scores another award

2017 Holden Astra wins Compact Family Car Award

There’s a new-generation of the Holden Astra coming soon to Holden dealerships and the Euro-sourced model comes with an array of car awards.

After taking out European Car of the Year and taking out the Family Car category at the What Car? Awards, Vauxhall has just received acclaim in the UK from Auto Express.

The Astra was named Compact Family Car of the Year at the Auto Express New Car Awards 2016.

The publication said the award recognises the Astra as the car that has leapt forward in many areas, but has also set the standard for others in its class.

While the judges praised the new Astra for:

  • Value for money
  • Technology
  • Real-world appeal
  • Cabin space
  • Boot space
  • Performance and economy of 1.6 litre turbo-diesel engine

Vauxhall boss Rory Harvey welcomed the accolade.

“The Astra has excelled once again,”

“It’s great to see how well-received the Astra has been so far and we are pleased that the Astra is being recognised for the hard work that has gone into making this model the best yet.”
