Ark Tow Ball Mount recall - owners of the Ark brand tow ball mount are urged to stop using them immediately.

Owners of a 3500kg rated steel tow ball mount manufactured by Ark Corporation are being urged to stop using the tow ball mount immediately.

The subject of an official recall being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the suspect Ark Tow Ball Mount is suitable for 50mm x 50mm hitch receiver and carries serial numbers A177 - A190 (marked on tow ball mount).

The ACCC recall notice warning that during production some materials used were not to the correct specifications. Under certain circumstances the tow ball mount can break at the bend next to the tow ball.

If the defect occurs whilst towing this may result in the towed trailer or caravan separating from the tow vehicle, causing a possible accident hazard to the vehicle occupants and other road users.

Sold through authorised Ark retailers and trade suppliers nationally between the 1st of October 2014 and the 13th of May 2015, owners of the Ark Tow Ball Mount should immediately stop using the tow ball mount and contact Ark Corporation for a replacement.

You can contact Ark Corporation via their website, email - [email protected] or call (02) 9678 9036 Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.
