Airbag Recall for LandCruiser 100/200 Series

Airbags with incorrect specifications possibly fitted

2015 Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series GX

A recall of some Toyota LandCruiser SUV/4x4s sold in Australia has been initiated after a possible airbag issue was identified.

The recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and both the earlier 100 Series (seen below), and current 200 Series LandCruisers are affected.

The recall notice advises that there is a possibility that an incorrect specification airbag assembly was installed during the vehicle assembly process.

What are the hazards?

Incorrect specification airbag increases the risk of injury to occupants during a crash.

What should consumers do?

Owners will be contacted by mail, inviting them to make an appointment with their preferred Toyota Dealer to have the airbag assembly replaced at no charge.
