Five Mercedes-Benz models recalled
A recall of Mercedes-Benz cars and SUVs sold in Australia is underway after a possible airbag issue was identified by the German car company.
The recall, affecting a total of 222 vehicles sold locally is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

The recall notice advising that the front passenger airbag in affected vehicles may not meet specifications.
In the event of an accident triggering a front passenger airbag, it may not deploy as designed.
As a result, the restraint effect of the front passenger airbag could not be guaranteed.

This could increase the risk of injury to the occupants.
What should owners do?
Letters will be sent to owners of affected vehicles by Mercedes-Benz requesting they make contact with their preferred Mercedes-Benz dealer to have the part replaced.
The latest recall comes after Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and GLA-Class vehicles were recalled last month over a possible window airbag issue was identified.
