Behind the Wheel listener Peter is looking for an affordable seven seat car.
Hey guys, love the podcast – we have a third baby on the way and we need more seating capacity.
Is it possible to get a safe and reliable seven seat vehicle for under $15,000? If so, what should we look at?
Chris Miller – Honda Odyssey is the pick here Peter. An older one will come in under $15,000 if you look around and it will be roomy enough while the kids are still small. Other options include the SsangYong Stavic and Holden Captiva 7, though neither of those two are great vehicles.
Peter Hitchener – The Stavic Chris? No way! How about a used Toyota Tarago?
Joel Helmes – Look for a second-hand Honda Odyssey or diesel-powered Kia Carnival.
Simon – Like Joel said, second hand Odyssey’s or Carnival’s will serve you well though a people mover isn’t the only option. Many SUVs have two extra seats in the back and while smaller and less comfortable, is okay for the kids. And if that’s really pushing the budget, there are always lesser brands like the Proton Exora which is no frills and can do the job.
Hope that helps Peter!
