5 star safety rating for both Suzuki Vitara and Kia Optima

Top safety scores for Suzuki and Kia models

Safety assessment organisation ANCAP have awarded the Suzuki Vitara and Kia Optima a five star safety rating following crash tests.

The Vitara was the highest selling unrated model in Australia and New Zealand up to this point and now buyers can have confirmation of their purchase.

However, the rating only applies to non-turbo Suzuki Vitara variants.

It obtained the 5 stars despite not having autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure technology or blind spot monitoring.

Meanwhile the quality Kia Optima has also been granted the highest safety ranking across its whole range.

ANCAP gave the Optima the thumbs up after good performances in all crash and safety assist performance tests.
