2018 Kia Stonic revealed

Kia’s new compact SUV unveiled

This is the vehicle that should just about be the icing on the cake for Kia Australia – the Kia Stonic compact crossover.

Joining the Kia Stinger in Kia’s local dealerships in coming months, the new Kia SUV was officially unveiled in Europe overnight.

Kia says the Stonic is an eye-catching compact crossover.

Set to be offered in Europe with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, including Kia’s 1.0 litre turbo-petrol, a 1.6 turbo-diesel and 1.25 and 1.4 litre petrol, we await final confirmation of local powertrains.

We can expect to see Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard in the Kia Stonic here.

While a safety pack that includes Autonomous Emergency Braking is being tipped to be optional, or available on upper-spec variants.

Michael Cole is the boss of Kia in Europe, he says the Stonic has been worth the wait.

“The Kia Stonic will be one of the most compelling new cars in this rapidly-expanding class, backed by Kia’s unique warranty, and the brand’s reputation for reliability, quality and contemporary design.

“As the segment expands, the Stonic looks set to become one of our best-selling cars.”

We will bring you all the Australian pricing and specification details for the new Kia Stonic as they come to hand.

As always, keep an eye on our Kia News section for the latest on one of Australia’s fastest-growing car brands.
