2018 Ford Mustang to receive upgrades

Next year’s model to be better than ever

As if the Mustang couldn’t be any more masculine, Ford is making the new model more powerful, meaner looking and with more features.

The upcoming model boasts a new sleeker, athletic look with a redesigned front and rear end and a more powerful 5.0 litre V8  engine which Ford promises will deliver higher revs, low-end torque and better fuel efficiency.

Transmission in both the V8 and 2.3 litre Ecoboost models have been upgraded with the mnaul tuned for optimal torque while the automatic has been promoted to a ten-speed from the previous six, allowing quicker shifts, better tip-in response (throttle control), and higher average power for acceleration.

New shock absorbers and suspension setup also improve the handling and ride control.

Occupants can enjoy Ford’s first 12” digital LCD touch screen that offers three different display modes - normal, sport and track - that are fully customisable with a memory for suspension and steering drive settings.

You can even have the option of control the engine note to make it purr as loud or as soft as you want.

It’s not all fun and games and safety hasn’t been forgotten.

Driver alert system, pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, distance alert, lane-departure warning, and lane keep assist are also included in the new model.

President of Ford, The Americas, Joe Hinrichs says they are delivering what Ford Mustang lovers want.

“Tapping Mustang’s enormous fan base, we’re bringing the new Mustang straight to the people.  The new Mustang is our best ever.”
