All-new BMW M5 to boast all-wheel drive for first time…
Our excitement for the local arrival of the all-new BMW M5 sports sedan just went up another notch with confirmation of an all-wheel drive powertrain.
Confirmed just this afternoon by BMW head office in Munich, the new M5, which will be here later in the year, will come standard with BMW’s xDrive drivetrain system.
BMW tell us the all-wheel drive M5 will bring better grip and better performance with a “noticeably quicker” 0-100km/h time than the current model (though that time is yet to be confirmed).
If you’re lamenting the fun of a rear-wheel drive M5 don’t worry, the xDrive system can be switched into full rear-wheel drive mode (with stability control disengaged).
Powered by the latest version of BMW’s 4.4 litre V8 TwinPower Turbo engine, we can’t wait to have a drive!
We will bring you more details on the all-new 2018 BMW M5 as they come to hand in our BMW 5 Series News section.
