2017 price cut for Peugeot models

Peugeot 208/2008 prices reduced

There’s a lot happening at Peugeot Australia at the moment, the latest twist being a rethink on prices for the Peugeot 208 and 2008.

Coming just weeks after the local distribution rights for the French brand (and it’s sibling Citroen), were won by Inchcape (the business that already handles Subaru in Australia – Peugeot is about to launch into the Australia the all-new 3008 SUV.

We will be at that launch on Thursday and Friday this week, stay tuned for more news and a first-drive review.

But the latest update from Peugeot is a cut of up to 5% on the price of the 208 hatch and 2008 SUV.

In announcing the move, Inchcape told us the changes were about delivering a strong price-product offering across both the Peugeot passenger car and SUV ranges.

Kicking in from last Friday, the price reductions are on average of 3% to 5%.

Updated 2017 Peugeot 208 Pricing:

  • Peugeot 208 ACTIVE - from $22,190
  • Peugeot 208 ALLURE – from $24,990
  • Peugeot 208 GT LINE – from $26,990
  • Peugeot 208 Gti – from $29,990

Updated 2017 Peugeot 2008 Pricing:

  • Peugeot 2008 ACTIVE – from $25,490
  • Peugeot 2008 ALLURE - from $29,990
  • Peugeot 2008 GT Line – from $31,500

Peugeot has also cut the cost of optional metallic/special paint on the 208/2008 from $990 to $590.

While the metallic paint option on the 508 is now $690, down from $990.

The price reductions come at a time when Peugeot sales in Australia are flat-lining. VFACTS data shows the brand managed just 106 sales in July - a total down nearly 62% on July 2016.

Local Peugeot sales have slumped nearly 48% across the first seven months of the year.
