2017 Audi Q2 now in production

Australia-bound Audi Q2 in production now

The Audi line-up is set to swell early next year with the Australian arrival of the all-new Audi Q2 compact SUV.

After being announced back in 2015, Audi has now got the Q2 on the same production line as the Audi A3 and global deliveries of the new model will start in the next month or so.

The plant is ramping up production of the Audi Q2 to a daily goal of 450 cars.

The Audi Q2 is being built with a range of six different engines, including three petrol and three diesel units.

And Albert Meyer, head of vehicle production at Audi’s Ingolstadt production plant, says things are moving along nicely for the all-new Audi model.

“The start of series production of a new model is always a great challenge and something special for a plant and its employees,”

“We are proud to be building the Audi Q2 – the Q‑family entry model – here in Ingolstadt for the world market.”

We will keep you updated with Australian pricing and specification details for the Q2 over coming months.
