The Alfa Romeo Giulia, which landed in Australia earlier this year, has picked up a range of different car awards and accolades over the past 12 months or so.
These include the ‘Best Car of 2016’ award from TopGear, it also took home the ‘Best New Luxury Car’ award from The Car Connection, it was named a ‘Future Classic’ by Hagerty, and even crowned the ‘Most Beautiful Car of 2016’.
The model was also recently named an auto industry ‘Game Changer’ by the UK car publication, Autocar.
Now, another trophy for the Alfa Romeo cupboard – Octane Magazine’s ‘Performance Car of the Year’ in the under £100,000 category.
The title, perhaps not surprisingly, was bestowed on the sportiest variant in the Giulia range – the 375kW/600Nm 2.9 litre twin-turbo V6 powered Quadrifoglio (or QV).
The award was judged by an illustrious panel of car experts, including Jay Leno, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and Le Mans winner Derek Bell.
“This is Alfa Romeo back to its brilliant best with a car that’s as good to drive as it is to look at. It’s sensationally fast, yet full of feel and with huge reserves of grip to match the big helpings of power. – Octane judges
