Unveiled officially overnight at the New York Auto Show, the new 2016 Kia Optima is not revolutionarily different to look at but is longer and wider than the current model. Kia is also promising a stiffer chassis and more interior space.

Currently only available with a 2.4 litre four-cylinder petrol engine in Australia, US buyers are being promised the choice of three different engines including new 1.6 and 2.0 litre turbo-charged petrol engines.

“The Optima changed the way people felt about the Kia brand thanks to its head-turning design and sporty performance. “

“The all-new Optima retains the signature personality of its predecessor, but we’ve literally improved everything, providing more space, better ride and handling, more technology and greater refinement.”
