Audi Q7 leads 2016 Audi sales increases

The Audi Q7 SUV has proven a sales star for Audi with the seven-seat SUV leading the German brand to a healthy 5.6% increase in sales in 2016.

From January to June Audi delivered 953,200 vehicles to customers across the globe.

The growth in Audi sales came primarily on the back of a healthy 73.6% jump in sales of the new Audi Q7, while the new Audi A4 also experienced a 12.3% increase in deliveries.

Audi finishing the first half of the year with 169,000 June sales, 7.4% more than the same month last year.

While in Australia, sales increased 7.2% in the first half of the year with 12,155 local deliveries.

Dietmar Voggenreiter is the sales and marketing chief at Audi AG, he says 2016 remains on track for a record sales performance.

“Despite persisting challenges in key markets, the first half of 2016 was mainly characterized by globally balanced growth.

“We reinforced our market leadership in Europe and China and are performing better than the overall market in the United States,”

“In the upcoming months, we will continue to strengthen our model portfolio with new technologies and concepts like the Audi Q7 e-tron, the A6L e-tron, the SQ7 TDI and the Q2.”
