Our Car of the Week is the 2015 Bentley Continental GT Coupe.
So, you’ve cleaned up in Powerball, got a big paying job, or perhaps a wealthy relative has finally shuffled off this mortal coil!
Whichever way you have, or intend to come into some serious money, you want to get about in style – real style that is.
We can’t think of a better way to tell the world that you’ve ‘made it’ than to have the keys to a Bentley in your pocket.
The Bentley range in Australia starts with the Bentley Flying Spur sedan, priced from just over $378,000, and rounds out with the big Bentley Mulsanne saloon – an offering that starts from a hefty $662,858!
We figured one of the more “affordable” Bentley’s might be the way to go and thus selected the 2015 Bentley Continental GT Coupe as Behind the Wheel Car of the Week this week.
In all there are sixteen different variants in the Bentley Continental range, the entry level model being priced from $381,000.
Under the Bentley Continental GT bonnet is a 373kW/660Nm 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 engine, matched exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Despite the big Bentley Coupe weighing in at a substantial 2295kgs the all-wheel drive system gets the power to the ground in such an efficient manner that a 0-100km/h sprint can be covered in just 4.8 seconds!
Bentley claims the Continental GT Coupe will use a combined 10.6L/100kms, around town you can expect to see fuel use jump up to 15.5L/100kms.
Right, so the engine is big and powerful but what standard features are offered? Well, the Bentley Continental GT Coupe boasts;
- 20” alloy wheels
- Keyless entry and push-button ignition
- Electrically adjustable heated front seats
- DVD player
- Full leather trim
- Bi-xenon headlights
- Electronic and auto-levelling suspension
Then there are the scary bits – the optional extras. Firstly there’s a massive array of optional paint colours that cost between $11,000 and $65,000!
Cabin customization and improvement options include;
- Premium sound system - $15,000
- TV Tuner - $2,400
- Reverse camera - $2,500
- Front and rear ash trays - $800
- Cross stitched leather seats - $7,500
As you can imagine the list goes on from there.
Our Car of the Week comes with a three and a half star Green Vehicle rating and there isn’t an ANCAP safety rating for the Bentley Continental GT.
The big Bentley coupe is made in the United Kingdom.
So, looks good doesn’t it? Thankfully viewing photos of the Bentley Continental GT Coupe doesn’t cost anything!
The Bentley Continental GT Coupe is a worthy Behind the Wheel Car of the Week.
