The affected vehicles were built in May this year.

Vehicles from the current series of the Holden Barina Spark are being recalled amid concerns a production fault could lead to a loss of steering.

The vehicles affected were manufactured between the 7th of May and the 26th of May this year and the ACCC are overseeing their recall.

They say the bolts connecting the front lower control arms to the steering knuckles may not have been fastened to specification. The recall notice warns that under certain driving conditions it is possible that the lower control arm may separate from the steering knuckle.

This may lead to a loss of vehicle steering.

The ACCC says Holden has already contacted a majority of affected customers and arranged rectification of their vehicles. Holden will contact the remaining customers to arrange for vehicle inspection.
