New Toyota crossover to boast 85kW 1.2 litre engine…

More details on the new Toyota C-HR have been revealed today with confirmation the new Toyota offering will come with a turbocharged 1.2 litre engine.

Packing 85kW and 185Nm, the engine features direct injection, a water-cooled turbo and variable valve-timing and Toyota say it will provide C-HR buyers with performance levels equivalent to a significantly larger engine.

Arriving in Toyota dealerships in the new year, the 2017 Toyota C-HR will sit between the Corolla and RAV4 in the Toyota range and will be offered in two specification levels -  C-HR and C-HR Koba.

Tony Cramb, head of Toyota Australia sales and marketing, says the new offering will provide a drive experience that matches the models sporty looks.

“C-HR’s extroverted styling projects a confident and sporty image that is matched by a remarkable turbo engine with great response across the rev range that is not compromised by impressive economy,”

“Combined with the outstanding handling and agility from the highly rigid new platform with its low centre of gravity, the C-HR adds up to an impressively engaging drive experience.”

No word yet on Australia pricing, we will keep you updated with further info on the Toyota C-HR as it comes to hand.
